Repairs to the Mossie

Earlier this year a life extension inspection was carried out on the club Mossie FQO. The glider is now cleared to fly up to 8,000 hours, with a maximum life of 12,000 hours.

During the inspection, delamination of the skin was discovered at the base of the fin which, while being safe to fly, required rectification. We organised for Joe Luciani at Ballarat to do the repair between Dadswells flying weekends and Roger Harrop kindly dropped off FQO at Ballarat Airfield after the June weekend. Roger will have picked up FQO on the way to the September Dadswells weekend.

The photos show work in progress which were thought could be of interest to GCV members.
