Winton is a very small town 12 km north-east of Benalla. The main (only) reason to go to Winton is watch V8 motorsport.

Winton Raceway regularly hosts rounds of the V8 Supercar Championship Series. The V8 Supercars are often supported by national championship races for Formula Holden, Formula Ford, the Porsche Cup, the MG Trophy and events for Group N historic touring cars.
