Competition Limit
We limit the competition to 60 gliders. This is caused by the availability of tow aircraft, tie downs, helpers and briefing space. 60 gliders has shown to be the right size given those factors. Any gliders registering after the limit is reached will be placed on a standby list. If anyone pulls out, the standby list will be accessed on a first in first approached basis.
Entry fee is $295AUD
Payment of the entry fee is required by 28 November 2008 or earlier. The first 60 paid entries will secure their spot. After 28 November 2008 a late fee of $60 will apply. At 28 November 2008, if you have not paid and there is an “oversubscription” to the competition, your spot will be declared available and given to the first glider on the standby list. I suppose the situation is; if you have paid you’ll have secured your place in the competition.
Tows
All launching will be by aero tow. Tug tickets will be $45 to 2,000 feet (subject to change depending on the price of Avgas at the time of the competition).
Water
Two sites are available on the airfield are available with water access. One is near the take-off point the other is adjacent to the GCV hangars. The GCV has recently installed a large capacity rain water tank that should provide sufficient water for the competition needs. You will need to provide your own hose with a regular garden type “click on” connector required.
