This 7 day beginner’s course, (day 1 is Saturday), includes GCV Flying Membership to end of financial year, 3 months Gliding Australia membership, glider hire, aerotows, instruction, training manuals and logbook and is aimed at preparing you for your first solo flight. Note: The course does not a guarantee a solo flight, but is the best and quickest way to work towards achieving it. This intensive course costs $4,500. Includes:
• Detailed instruction of theory and practice
• GCV Flying Membership till the end of current financial year
• 3 month’s Gliding Australia membership
• Glider hire
• 60,000 ft of towing height, which equates to ca. 30 aerotows

Gliding Intro
This course offers a shorter introduction to gliding, with less theory, to see whether gliding is for you. This course costs $1,500. Includes:
• 3 months GCV Flying Membership
• One month’s GAus Introductory Membership
• Glider hire
• 24,000 ft of towing height, which equates to 8 or 9 aerotows
• Weather permitting, some flights will be extended thermalling flights to familiarize you with the joys of gliding.

Weekend Training
Alternatively, you can learn to fly at your own pace at weekends at Benalla. It is best if you can concentrate on regular visits over a short period as this makes it easier for you to retain what you learn.
First Feathers
This is a special offer, restricted to fulltime tertiary students at Australian universities and colleges. Minimum group size of 3. This course costs $850. Includes:
• A greater emphasis on the theory of flight, conveyed in group discussions
• Weather permitting, two flights per day, including one extended thermalling flight
• One aerobatic flight, if you like
• 3 months GCV Flying Membership
• One month’s GAus Introductory Membership
• Glider hire
• 30,000 ft of towing height, which equates to ca. 10 aerotows
